Maptiler wrong how to#

Choose the input coordinate system you wish to use using the 'Coordinates' menu.Change the setting in the 'Geolocation' menu to the default one (or any other than 'GCPs' for that matter).Therefore, if you chose the GCPs in the Mercator projection, and then switched to WGS84, the GCPs you picked will not make any sense in the new projection. Take for example Web Mercator(EPSG:3857) and WGS84(EPSG:4326) - the former uses meters as the basic unit while the latter operates on degrees and both have completely different bounds.

The reason for it is that the GCPs are saved in the coordinate system that was chosen at the moment of opening the georeferencing tool and some coordinate systems are inherently incompatible. If you changed the input coordinate system after georeferencing the image, you might get the 'can't warp' error.

Not sure how to access other QGIS debug info. No error in the Python console or the Log Message panel.Interestingly I can't reproduce with OSM base layer from QMS, suggesting it's a tile serving issue (coupled with a general minor bug how the plugin(s) load the tiles maybe across all those zoom levels when zooming in fast ?). Also, my laptop is very new Lenovo T495s. I have a 100Mb connection and don't think lag is a problem (unless yours and Carto's server are hosted in Australia, which I guess they aren't I'm in Berlin). MapTiler really freezes QGIS every time I zoom in 'too fast'. sometimes Carto maps get stuck, sometimes they don't. Though with Carto's maps it doesn't happen as consistently as with MapTiler, i.e.

Zooming in very slowly and it works fine. And it's clear now, that it's definitely related to how fast you zoom in. I can confirm now that it's not MapTiler, the same happens with Carto's maps.
